History and Description

The Charlottesville Immigration Law Center [CILC] is located in the Belmont section of Charlottesville, Virginia a few blocks from the Downtown Mall. It was organized in 2003 by the law firm of Braverman and Lin, PC from Arlington Va. The principal attorney in the firm is Stanton Braverman who has been specializing in Immigration and Naturalization Law since 1972. Mr. Braverman is currently principal attorney at the CILC and Edward Summers is his associate.

The CILC is dedicated to meeting the immigration needs of Central Virginia, a region that extends from Warrenton to the north, Norfolk to the east, Harrisonburg to the west and Roanoke and Blacksburg to the south. This part of the state is rapidly growing and a number of people in the area need the services of an immigration attorney with the ability to handle a wide variety of immigration matters. The CILC is qualified to handle employment based visa petitions, outstanding research scientist, investors, political asylum and family based petitions. The CILC has considerable expertise in representing clients before the Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Also the CILC is experienced with all aspects of citizenship and naturalization issues. The Center is prepared to represent clients before all local, state and federal agencies that involve immigration and naturalization matters and, when necessary, pursuing matters before the Federal Courts.

The CILC works closely with the legal and paralegal staff of Braverman and Lin's main office in Arlington to assure that clients receive the highest quality legal representation. With staff who are involved with the immigration services and courts on a daily basis, the CILC is poised to provide clients with the convenience of a Central Virginia location and the experience and abilities of a Northern Virginia immigration practice.

Between the Charlottesville and Arlington offices, the CILC is able to communicate with persons who can speak the following languages:

  • Spanish
  • Thai
  • Chinese (Mandarin and Taiwanese)
  • Vietnamese
  • German
